What are the costs for insuring my goods and what happens if something
is damaged?
Premier Van Lines provides insurance through ACIS Cargo Insurance of
London, backed by Lloyd's of London. The cost for our Full Value Replacement
Insurance is $20.00 per $1000 of value you place on your shipment. You
are required to purchase a minimum of $6.00 per pound of coverage based
on the actual weight of your shipment.
Example: a 3000 lb. shipment would require a minimum of $18,000 of
coverage.
This policy has a $500 deductible up
to $50,000 in coverage. You can purchase above the minimum and it is
recommended that you insure the entire value of your belongings. Coverage
over $50,000 has a 1% deductible. Or you can apply for a $0 deductable
for $30.00 per $1000 of value.
Prior to your move date, we will send you an application form to fill
out where you will list all your items and list the value of each item
to come up with a total coverage required. Once loaded, an actual ‘Certificate
of Insurance' will be sent to you.
